Clergy Appointment Process Timeline: (The article is here.)
April 3-4: The cabinet will convene again to confirm the majority of the appointments.
April 9-10: Pastors affected by a move this year will meet with their district superintendent.
In churches affected by a move, the chairperson of the staff-parish relations committee will be contacted.
April 11-13: The cabinet will gather to make any adjustments to the projected appointments.
April 15: Public announcements will be made in churches where a move is to take place.

The Baptist Hospital Department of Pastoral Services and Center for Clergy Care & Education will present a workshop for clergy of the community Tuesday, April 17, 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m., at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 3200 North 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL. Blue Lake Christian Writers Retreat
Blue Lake Christian Writers Retreat is a writers conference where both beginning and experienced writers can take classes from a professional faculty of experienced Christian authors and editors. Classes are offered for fiction and nonfiction, novels, articles, and devotions. Praise and worship begin each general session, and motivational keynotes create an atmosphere for spiritual growth and inspiration. Room and board are provided for those who stay for the full conference. Commuter options are also available.  Deadline for registration is April 15. Registration limited to first 100 people.

SE Jurisdiction Meeting of Lay Servant Ministries District and Conference Directors
at Montgomery First UMC
(AWFC-UMC 12/02/2017) - There will be no Conference Blue Lake Training in 2018. We will hold a large training event at First United Methodist Church, Montgomery from Thursday, July 12, 2018, through Saturday, July 14, 2018, as we host the Southeastern Jurisdiction Annual Conference and District Directors meeting. There will be four or five Advanced Courses available as well as the Basic Course. Registration will be available in the spring of 2018. You may attend courses in any district. AWF Conference Cooperative "Mission u" Event
at St. Luke UMC, Pensacola
Mission u in Alabama-West Florida Conference is a cooperative event of Board of Church and Society and United Methodist Women. It provides opportunity for mission education, confrontation with current issues and spiritual growth. The current mission studies are presented by certified leaders. Every church and local unit of United Methodist Women is strongly encouraged to participate. CEU credits are available. Registration forms will be available at the appropriate time on the website,

  • All items are subject to review and approval by the Pensacola District Office. 
  • To send items for consideration e-mail
  • Send the full announcement in text format so that we can copy and paste it.
  • When submitting items for Facebook, is there a URL you can share with us?
  • Send us your flyer, brochure, or applicable graphic/picture - or the URL to a web page where this is available.
  • Please note that we do not use Publisher. We do use Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, and PDF.

Due to the many activities going on around our conference, local church events are no longer posted at the Alabama-West Florida Conference website ( unless they are of conference-wide interest. If you choose to post an event please note the guidelines below. This was published by the Alabama-West Florida Conference in October 2017. 
Event Promotion Guidelines for the AWF Conference Calendar
(AWF-UMC 10/16/2017) - The Alabama-West Florida Conference cabinet and CORE team have approved new guidelines for promoting events in the conference. This will streamline how information is submitted, where events are promoted and also provides suggestions on how groups can help promote their events. Click here for the pdf document.
