(Pensacola District) - Rev. Hubert Segers (retired) had emergency surgery on April 1st and passed away on Friday the 13th of April. May 7 would have been his 82nd birthday. Services were held April 18 at the Cokesbury United Methodist Church in Pensacola. Please pray for his wife, Nelda, and family.
April 15, 2012 - Judy Walker, Mother of Nan Elliott
(Pensacola District) - Please be in prayer for Nan and Rev. Dr. Nathan Elliott and family (Gonzalez United Methodist Church) in the death April 15 of Nan's mom, Judy Walker. Services were held April 19 at Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva, Alabama.
April 16, 2012 - Alta Edna Spikes
(Dothan District) - Mrs. Alta Edna Spikes of Birmingham, wife of Rev. Roy Millard Spikes (retired), passed away April 16, 2012. Please pray for Roy and family. Alta was a member of Black United Methodist Church of Black, Alabama.
May 1, 2012 - Anne Vickers, Lee Roy Shaw
(Demopolis District) - 1) We received word this morning of the passing today of Mrs. Anne Vickers (surviving spouse of Rev. John E. Vickers). Funeral services will just be Graveside Saturday, May 5th, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, AL. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to The ALS Association (Lou Gehrig's disease) Development Dept., 27001 Agoura Road, Suite 250, Calabasas Hills, CA 91301 or www.alsa.org/donate. Lee Roy Shaw (Sweet Water Charge): Following Lee Roy’s heart catherization yesterday (4-30-12) he will now have open heart surgery in a few days.
May 2, 2012 - Laura Bearden Dorr
Local funeral arrangements have been made for Laura Bearden Dorr, who passed away April 27. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, at Christ United Methodist Church in Mobile, followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Magnolia Cemetery in Mobile. Rev. Jeff Spiller and Rev. Dr. Ronald Bearden will be officiating.
May 3, 2012 - Lee Roy Shaw
(Demopolis District) - Rev. Lee Roy Shaw (Sweet Water Charge) had quadruple by-pass surgery this morning. He is doing well. Please continue to pray for his healing/recovery.
May 7, 2012 - William (Butch) Albert Earnest, Sr.
(AWF Conference) - The Rev. William (Butch) Albert Earnest, Sr. (retired) passed away May 7, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Jackie. Services were held at Cain's Chapel. Please pray for Jackie and family.
